Margarita Mavroeidi

MISSIONARY BIO

OCMC Missionary Margarita Mavroeidi

Margarita was born in Sweden but spent most of her childhood in Greece. When she was 12 years old, due to the Greek economic crisis, her family was forced to move abroad, first to Texas and then to North Carolina. Living in the United States made her love for languages and cultures grow.

During her time in college, Margarita volunteered as treasurer of VOLAR, a community-based organization that allows students to interact with and address the needs of the local Hispanic community while gaining authentic linguistic practice. She also worked as a Mental Health Ambassador during her last year.

Margarita graduated from North Carolina State University with a BA in Psychology, minors in Spanish and Biology, and a Global Perspectives Certificate. She continued her education by becoming nationally certified as an emergency medical technician (EMT).
